Disasters And Responsibility

Hello everyone...

It seems this week I am receiving many profound messages in my inbox that I really want to share with you.  Today is no exception!

On Tuesday, I received a message from James Arthur Ray (you may remember him as one of the featured speakers on the Secret documentary).  James was informing his subscribers of the horrific fires that were occurring in his area -- California.  And he used this occasion to provide valuable information... on disaster and responsibility.

I'm going to share with you part of this e-mail because it certainly answers a common query people have about the Law of Attraction... how would anyone want to attract tragedy, hardship, violence, horrific injury or death into their lives?

Here's what James Arthur Ray had to say about the fires and responsibility:

Kindness

Hello everyone...

Today I'm going to share with you an excerpt from Peggy McColl's book "Your Destiny Switch":

Kindness

When you turn up the volume on your kindness, you feel good, making it easier for the people around you to choose to feel kind in return. You radiate a joy and compassion that's infectious. You connect to your creativity and find clever ways to express your wonderful feeling of kindness.

Not all people will allow themselves to be lifted up by your consideration, but you can enjoy how delightful it feels to be kind, regardless. Watch how skilled flight attendants will deal with angry passengers who've just been told their plane is late without being given a reason. If they access their feelings of kindness and sympathy, they can say that they're really sorry for the delay and will try to get more information as soon as possible and then they'll do so, because they genuinely feel kindness toward their passengers.

Many people think that in the corporate world the only way to get ahead is to be a jerk, but that's simply not true.  There are many kind people who rise up the corporate ladder, build successful businesses, and make good money.  They treat their clients, customers, employees, and colleagues well; and in return, they receive positive feelings and loyalty.

Any form of service or charitable work is an act of kindness that helps you achieve your destiny because you're helping others achieve theirs. Sharing your wealth, whether it's money or time, with someone who's less fortunate connects you to your positive feelings. When you give, let go of expectations. Be fair and generous without calculating what you'll get in return, which creates a feeling of want. There's an old saying: "Cast your bread upon the waters and it will return a thousandfold." Giving from your heart with kindness will always reap a reward for you: joy.

I came across this excerpt today and I thought it was well worth sharing!  I particularly like the concept of letting go of expectations when you give -- to me that is true giving.

I'd love to know what you think about this piece... you can share your thoughts by posting a comment.  It would be great to hear from you.

Warm wishes
Jeanne

Commitment to change

Have you never had something you've really wanted to do... something that could and would benefit you in all sorts of ways e.g. financially, your health, relationships.  Something that you've dreamt about doing, talked about doing, promised yourself you will do but you haven't actually got around to doing yet?

Now this could be wanting to get fit, lose some weight, stop smoking, get a new job, clean out the clutter in your house, sort through all the unwanted things and make room for something new, read a personal development book... you get what I mean!

I know I have!  Many times!  There's always a really good reason why I can't start... it could be that too many things are happening in my life already and I don't need something else to focus on.  Or it could be that I'm not in the mood, or I've got chocolate in the fridge and why go on a diet when all that temptation is there (and certainly has to be eaten).  My list of excuses can be quite endless at times.

But the thing is... and I often have to remind myself of this important, crucial fact... nothing is going to change in my life, nothing is going to improve in my life until I make the decision to get myself committed to begin making the change!

Okay... I want to lose a couple of kilos... the chocolate in the fridge isn't going to be overly devastated if I'm not the one to actually eat it.  That goes for smoking as well (I've never smoked) or for anything else that you want to change in your life.

Again, the change that I want in my life is not going to happen until I make a commitment in my mind to take deliberate action in the direction of the change I want.

And the other thing is... putting it off until tomorrow or a better time is counterproductive for me getting what I want, or for me achieving changes in my life.

Make a commitment to start doing, right now, what it is you really want to do.  And once you get started it's amazing how easy the rest will be!

Can you identify with this?  Let me know your experiences... what you need to commit to taking action on... and maybe we can encourage each other... and make a commitment to begin action... right NOW!!

Enjoy!

Opportunities rather than problems

Hello everyone...

I'm always amazed (but not surprised) how similar events line up and present themselves to us -- especially the ones that we are not quite so fond of!  If you know what I mean!

Today for example... I knew (I had an incredibly strong inner feeling) when I first woke this morning that it was going to be a somewhat challenging day with one thing and another.  So I quickly and determinedly said to myself "this too will pass, and it will be great!"... I didn't want to put any energy into the fact it was going to be terrible because once I begin to think how terrible or how difficult things are going to be, well they most certainly will!

Many times I kept repeating to myself "this too will pass, and it will be great" and as each challenge appeared throughout the day I kept forcing myself to see it as an opportunity rather than a disaster.  Nothing was given to me today that I couldn't handle -- sure I would have preferred to handle more pleasant things, but hey that's life!  And each situation appeared and gave me lots of opportunities to step outside my comfort zone and in reality it wasn't that bad at all!

I've only got a couple more challenging things to go through today and I am emphatically repeating over and over and over "this too will pass, and it will be great!"  Oh and I have just received an e-mail from a friend (who had no idea what my day was like today) and part of the e-mail was a prayer.  It was pertinent, particularly this:

Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept  all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over.

Have you had times like this, where looking at the potential difficulties as actual opportunities got you through?  I'd love to hear about your experiences.

Enjoy

Jeanne

So, I'm concluding my day with thoughts that I got through this quite effortlessly and constructively -- and yes, it did pass and it was great!

Make a difference!

Hello everyone.  Today's post is a quote I recently read and I thought it was worth sharing.

Don't spend your precious time asking "why isn't the world a better place?"

It will only be time wasted.

The question to ask is "how can I make it better?"

To that there is an answer.

                         -- Leo F. Buscaglia

What Leo is getting at puts responsibility squarely on us as individuals to make a difference in the world -- and when we do make a difference for others we are actually making things much better for ourselves.  And I don't think Leo was meaning that we each had to do something incredibly monumental, such as discover a cure for the common cold (although, wouldn't that go down incredibly well with everybody!)

One thing you can easily, effortlessly and painlessly incorporate in your behaviour on a regular basis is smiling.  Smiling not only makes other people feel good, even momentarily, it lifts our energy to a higher vibration and makes us feel good.  And have you noticed how contagious smiling is?  It's a great, easy, rewarding thing to do.

Let me know what you think about the above quote, I'd really love to hear from you.

Enjoy!

Plan for your goal

Hello everyone...

Have you got a goal in mind?  A goal you have got lots of good intentions of achieving -- let me ask you honestly, do you think you will actually achieve it?

How much of a difference in your life would it make to achieve your goal?

Maybe your goal is to lose weight, to go travelling to some faraway land that you always have wanted to go to (like me and Mongolia), or perhaps it is to start a business you have been talking about, or maybe getting out of debt, and what about that new car you want to buy?

Are you tired of always putting your goal or dream off... are you tried of having a goal, a really important goal, that you just can't seem to achieve?

It's a well-known fact that the major reason why most people fail to achieve any real success with their goals, is that they never plan to achieve them.  They may want to, and they may dream about it and fantasise about it, and talk about it, and read all about it... but the really sad thing is that their chances of succeeding without a plan is almost nil.

Over the next few days, really think about your goals and plan in detail what you want to achieve.  And in your plan, set up a system of follow-up and accountability that will help you put that plan into action and keep you on track.

I'd like to know what your goals are and the kind of plan you are wanting to put into place.

If you are not sure how to do this, and would like to throw a few ideas around, leave me a message and we can get you moving in the right direction.

With very best wishes

Conquering Fear

Today I have a quote for you by Eleanor Roosevelt...

"I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experiences behind him."

How true!

Warm wishes

Creating Change

Hello... today's post is related to creating change in your life. If you are anything  like me, creating change is sometimes easier said than done... so let's look at an important aspect to get the "creating change ball rolling":

Before you can change your life or make improvements you first need to decide what it is you want to change and what kind of improvements you want to make.

It's one thing knowing that you want to change something in your life, whether it be your fitness level, weight, job, relationships, confidence, mood but it is another thing to know what it is you want to change.

Being tired of the way things are, is a great reason to want to change things... but what do you want to change?  What are you tired of?...

Did I hear you say: "Everything??  I'm tired of the way things are -- I just want things to change!"

The important thing to remember is that you are not going to be able to change anything in your life until you know what it is you want to change.  The first step towards making a change in your life is to work out what it is you want different.  A good way to begin is to write down three or four things in your life that you want to change or improve.

Think about it... write down various aspects of your life which you feel need to change or improve e.g. your finances, your health, your relationships, your job, your communication skills, your motivation level, your happiness... and as you are writing, think about what you are doing currently and then what changes need/can to be made.

This is an essential, and energising, first step... enjoy it!  And I'd love to hear what you think and what you have experienced...

Best wishes

Do you know what you want?

Hello everyone... today's pondering raises an important concept when it comes to achieving goals.

Most people don't get what they want in life or achieve goals because they don't know what they really want or what their goal is.  They may have some vague idea but they can't actually express clearly what they want to achieve.  All too often when I ask people what they want... they easily and quickly tell me what they don't want e.g. "I don't want to feel unfulfilled", "I don't want to be so poor", "I don't want be this unfit", "I don't want to be this unhappy", " I don't want all the arguments and tension with my family".

There's a huge difference between knowing what you don't want, and knowing what you do want.  And that is the difference between getting what you want... and not.

If you are focused on what you don't want... that's what will show up in your life.  What we think about is what we bring about in our life... if you don't want to be in debt and that's what you constantly think about, you will find that more debt will show up in your life.  If you don't want tension in your relationships -- that's what you will get.

Bottom line is... be clear about what you want -- be specific.  Focus on what you want, not on what you don't want .

Do you know what you want???

Take care
Jeanne
