Hello everyone...
We all have goals we want to achieve. Sometimes they are really easy to achieve, and sometimes they elude us big time!
There are lots of things you can do to make achieving goals a fulfilling and satisfying experience -- yes, even for those really tricky, pie in the sky, in my dreams, kind of goals!
The first major step for achieving goals is to write down your goals in detail. Write down exactly what it is you want to achieve as well as how you will know when you have achieved it. (At this stage, I'm not going to go into this step in any great detail because it will be covered in another post at a later time.)
Okay... now out of your list of goals, choose one that you really want to focus on. You are very clear about your goal... you can describe it in detail, you have written it out in detail, you may even have pictures of it (e.g. the kind of car you want, the kind of body you want, the kind of house, job, or relationship you want).
The next important step in this process is to think about the kind of person you would be if you already had achieved your goal. Write down the qualities you would have if you already had achieved what you want. Write down how you would feel, how you would act, how you would present yourself to the outside world, how you would think, how you would interact with others, what values you would have.
If you are reading this and thinking "I've got no idea how I would feel, and all of the above paragraph" then look at someone who already has achieved what you want and apply the above paragraph to them. And take your time with this because it is a crucial step in the goal of achieving process.
Once you have written down all the qualities... start applying them in your own life right now. Start Being the person who's achieved your goal. Start thinking and feeling like the person who's already achieved it. Start Being each one of those qualities right now!
This really goes a long way in helping you achieve your goals. Each one of these qualities is already in you, it is already part of you, but all too often we forget about them. Become aware of the way you are Being now and start Being an achiever rather than someone who doesn't quite achieve their goals.
I'd be interested to know what you think about this. Please leave a comment and share your experiences and thoughts.
Best wishes
Jeanne
