Hello everyone...
Hope your Monday is going well.
Today I received an e-mail from a friend... you know, the kind of e-mail that gets passed around. Anyway this one really made me take notice because it is something I meant to write about last week but for whatever reason, didn't!
It's about the benefits of drinking water. I know many people dislike water immensely... I used to be one of them and I wouldn't drink a glass of water if it was the last beverage available! But about 14 years ago I "made myself" enjoy it, and now it is my favourite drink (second to G&T). Since I've been drinking water on a regular basis I have noticed how much better I feel!
This e-mail listed some of the benefits... here goes:
- one glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters in a university study (got no idea what university this is)
- lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue
- research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers (not quite sure about that but drinking water does help)
- a mere 2% drop in body water can trigger short-term memory, trouble with basic maths, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen
- drinking five glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer and also bladder cancer
- it is really good for your skin
- drinking water helps cool you down in summer
I don't know the author of the information in the e-mail, but I do know water is so valuable for your well-being and many people do not drink enough!
How much water do you drink each day?? Do you enjoy drinking water or do you find that it is something you have to make yourself do?
Please follow the comment link and leave a comment... I'd love to hear from you. Have you any tips for helping people drink more water?
Best wishes
Jeanne
