Hi everyone...
Well, there's only a few more days left of 2007... and for many people, it is Audit Time (also known as a review) of your goals and what you have wanted to achieve this year. This is a vital step in your Personal Development.
My first question is: Will the thought of doing an audit (review) result in you celebrating?? Or will you cringe at the thought of contemplating an audit (review)??
And my second question is: Will you do an audit (review) or will you put it off for another day... in other words, procrastinate!
My third question is: have you actually got goals that you set at the beginning of the year? Did you write them down??
Well... if you did... grab a coffee, or a glass of wine (depending on what you need at this very minute), and let's bring out those goals. Go on! While we are both here... let's see how you went!
Ok... are you comfy?? Great.
Now look at the list... and see what you planned for the year. For this year, I had 14 major goals and I'm looking down the list right now... and I can see that 12 out of the 14 have been achieved. Five of those goals are tangible e.g. finish my book, get it published, learn how to design a website, set up a website, increase my clientele. Each one of those goals was achieved.
The remaining 9 goals related to the inner me e.g. strengthen my connection with the universe, develop effective habits... you get the picture. These inner goals, whilst achieved, fluctuate in the stability. But my inner self has improved a great deal this year.
It was interesting, the goals that I spelt out in great detail... were the ones that I achieved more rapidly. For many goals, I deliberately made them ambiguous and woolly e.g. increase my happiness... and they are the goals that I had the most difficulty in achieving because I was unsure about what I was aiming to achieve.
So my point is: take this opportunity and look at your life, and your list of goals, and see where you are right now... and then over the next few days write down where you really want to be with your life. I'm not saying do this by New Year's Eve and make all kinds of resolutions e.g. lose weight, have an alcohol free week (heaven forbid) or whatever.
But let's get organised for the beginning of the new year... let's embrace this audit of our life with enthusiasm, determination and commitment to make this coming year the very best year you have had.
Now if you want to learn how to do an Audit of your life and goals... let me know and I can guide you through the process. It is not complicated, and you certainly don't need any accounting skills to do this audit. See it as a life changing experience rather than something that you need to hide from.
You can leave a comment by clicking on the comment link below... I'd really love to know your thoughts and feelings about auditing your life.
Best wishes
