Hello everyone...
Excuse my language in the title! But I couldn't think of a better word than "crappy" to describe those days when everything seems to go wrong... it's not disastrous kind of wrong, just an "off" kind of wrong!
For those of you who have devoured many spiritual and personal development books and web sites, you will be aware that you do create your own reality! And I know, from personal experience, that sometimes it is very difficult to see how you could create the kind of reality that leads to a "crappy" day. I've often said to myself "who in their right mind would create this reality???"
Well... I know the answer to that! And the answer is me. Yep... it was me! I did! Hmmmmm.
So... what can you do to just change things a little? I am not talking miracle stuff here, I'm just talking about something that may just shift things slightly, to help break the cycle of "crappiness". And who knows... a miracle may surface as a result of this.
Ok... what you do is look for tiny, little things that make you say "how good is that!". And it can be really tiny, small things/events e.g. you are running late for an appointment, you get into your car, turn the radio on and your favourite song is playing -- this is when you say "how good is that!"
Another example that happened to me earlier this week, is I went to the bank expecting I'd have to wait on a large queue because it's Christmas in a couple of days... I arrived at the bank door and there was only one other person on the queue. This was a definite "how good is that!" moment. Again, it wasn't earthshattering material but it was great!
By focusing on those tiny small things that are pleasant e.g. children laughing, someone smiles at you, kind of makes us feel that life isn't so bad after all. And so by focusing on those small little pleasant things, our mindset changes slightly. We then tend not to notice the negative things quite as much.
When you are feeling negative, and you only focus on negative things that are happening, you tend to completely ignore the pleasant and positive things that are happening in your life as well. And the opposite is true -- when you are focusing on all the pleasant, good positive things, the negative things seem to be overlooked (slightly) or fade into the background -- even for a very brief moment.
It is important, not only to notice things that you can say "how good is that!", but you have to label it as well and say it out loud. It is by actually labelling something as pleasant, and saying "how good is that!", that helps shift things for you.
And please note, I do not say "try" to look for tiny things that make you say "how good is that!", I'm actually saying "do" it. There's a big difference between trying to do something, and actually doing something. It is not until you actually do this that you will the benefit!
Trust me... I've had my fair share of "crappy" days, of "crappy" weeks that tend to go on and on and on. But in amongst the "crappiness" there is always something that warrants a "how good is that!". Sometimes I just have to take notice of it.
Let me know what you think... and share your experiences! You can easily do this by clicking on the comment link below. I'd loved to hear from you.
Best wishes
Jeanne

Well lo and behold! This is just what I need to see...again...so how good is THAT?!?!?
I've been doing a BWE program for a couple 2-3 weeks now and this morning for some reason I just couldn't make myself go through with the exercise. I had the headphones on but I was feeling so very "crappy" I had to stop, thinking that doing brainwave entrainment in that state would be counterproductive.
I'm still not sure why I feel this way for now, but I know that this too will pass and I can get back on track.
Another company's information about this kind of inner work says that sometimes one will hit a wall and feel "crappy" to put in context here, so I'm not letting this get me down and I'll probably do my work on this in a little while. Just expressing myself in this moment is helping me tremendously and I find myself thanking you again.
Have a good one. Mine is better already and it can only go up from here! Since it's 7 in the a&m I have a whole great day ahead of me.
Don't worry, be happy... :)

Hello Dana...
Great to see you again! And I'm really pleased that you got something out of that post.
Yeah... hitting a brick wall is common, and I tell myself extremely healthy! Hmmm. Seriously, brick walls will happen and it is useful to see it as part of the process. If the brick wall continues to appear, you may need to look at going around it, changing direction even just a little bit can help neutralise the impact of the inevitable brick wall!
Keep coming back to this blog... and let me know if there is anything you would like to throw around for discussion!
Best wishes
Jeanne
