Hi everyone...
Do you ever get to the stage where you feel that you have to give up your goals??... the diet is getting so very difficult to follow, especially at Christmas and New Year??... the energy and commitment you are putting into your new business venture is just not paying off financially??... you haven't got the energy to study while you are working full time and have a young family you are very committed to??... the new skill you are trying to learn is an ongoing battle??
Well... I've been there lots of times as has everyone else. Today I received a poem which I want to share with you... I think it's appropriate for such occasions!
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow --
You may succeed with another blow.Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faultering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.Success is failure turned inside out --
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are --
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're the hardist hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.Unknown
Hmmmmmm... I think it's great. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Click on the comment link below and let me what you think.
Best wishes
Jeanne

Thank you for sharing that poem, Jeanne, what a lovely poem.
I especially like the sentence "Success is failure turned inside out", along with the rest of the poem of course.
What with Christmas gone, and us all making resolutions in the hope that we can fulfil them all, I can resonate with everything you have said.
I do enjoy reading all of your items Jeanne, and I wish you the very best for the New Year.
Keep inspiring us, lovely.
Sincerely Bev
