Motivation is the drive we have to do things... it is an indication of our desire, our need and our wish to have or do things in our life.
As discussed in a previous post How to Stay Motivated: 7 Tips to Keep the Fire Going! , motivation levels fluctuate at different times -- this is normal! And can be extremely frustrating when your motivation is low!
Sometimes our motivation can be low because we are not clear about what we want... and when we are unclear, our thoughts, energy and actions tend to be scattered and unfocused.
When we don't have a plan... when we don't have a path to follow... things become more difficult to do and achieve. When we struggle to do things our motivation to continue decreases.
No plan and no focus, results in low motivation which then makes plans and focus extremely difficult. A vicious cycle develops and unless you do something about this cycle, accomplishing any tasks will be difficult and take much longer than necessary.
So how do you break the cycle? How do you increase your motivation?
Firstly, be very clear about what you want, be clear about your goal, what you want to achieve. Spend time writing your goal down in and describe it in specific detail. The more detailed, the more specific, the more description you give your goal the more you have a plan to follow.
And when you have a plan, you will be more motivated to stick with your plan -- because you know where you are going, what you have to do, and how you're going to do it!
Write out the details of your goal... list the necessary steps or tasks you need to do in order to achieve your goal.
It's like most things in life... when you know what you're doing, when you know what direction you are going in, when you know what you've got to do, it is much easier to do it.
It is much easier to keep motivated to stay on your path to achieve your goal when you have a plan!
