"Outer Mongolia... no longer a fantasy" : 2 chapters from my book for you

Promotions for the Olympic Games which will be held in Beijing in only a few months... are well and truly underway (and have been for several months). 

I always enjoy promotions of the Olympic Games... I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually enjoy watching the ads for them! I love seeing parts of the country where they are being held that year... and I truly enjoy watching peoples dreams of being in the Olympic Games becoming reality. 

This year, my enjoyment of the Olympic promotions is heightened because 13 years ago I went to Beijing.

Beijing was part of my journey to Mongolia... it was part of my dream becoming reality. Whilst Beijing wasn't our ultimate destination, it provided me with unbelievably fond memories.

Outer Mongolia: My Dream Became Reality Interview

When did you decide to live your dream of visiting Outer Mongolia?

Wednesday, November 10, 1993 -- at dinner with a friend (Ro) and Sally, a woman I had only met once before.  Early in the evening, Sally (we were at her place and I had only met her once before) was talking about her recent trip to Tibet... one thing led to another and at some stage I mentioned something about Mongolia and Sally immediately said " Why not go there??"  my immediate response was: no way... I thought she was kidding and would leave it at that -- but Sally is into dream analysis and has been for many years.  She kept saying “why don't you?”  After a couple more drinks, my protests faded and the three of us that night decided to go to Mongolia.  And at that point... I knew my life would never be the same again.

What was the most empowering aspect of having a life long dream become a reality?

It broke through my limiting beliefs about what I was capable of doing.  It also broke through many other people's limiting beliefs about me – many of my family and friends and doctors were very vocally opposed to me going -- I even got told I was irresponsible, and I should not be contemplating it given my physical challenges and enormous breathing problems.

The most empowering thing about it is that I know anything you really want to do badly enough... you can do it, no matter what your circumstances are.

If I can turn my dream into a reality... anyone can!

Reclaiming your dream: interview with Jeanne and Wendy

I was recently interviewed by Wendy Wallace about the work I do... about the programs I offer... and my thoughts on dreams and turning them into reality.

Over the last 10 weeks or so, I've participated in Wendy Wallace's Desire to Grow program.  Within the program, Wendy offered mentoring... and I became one of her mentees.  Wendy Wallace is an amazing lady... she's worked as a freelance journalist, she's an intuitive counsellor, has collaborated on many Law of Attraction projects... and is a dynamic interviewer!

A couple of weeks ago, Wendy offered to interview me about my work... particularly the work I do with reconnecting people to their dreams.  It was an amazing experience for me... it was the first time I've been interviewed about my work!

Randy Pausch: achieving childhood dreams

Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon Professor who was dying of pancreatic cancer when he delivered this series of lectures, is an inspiration to everyone.

In this 9 minute video, Randy Pausch shares life lessons that helped him turn his childhood dreams into reality and he talks about the importance of enabling the dreams of others.

Randy Pausch talks openly and passionately about his childhood dreams and how he never let them go... each of those dreams remained with him and were made into reality in one form or another.
