Living Every Moment

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of being a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.  I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live.  I rejoice in life for its own sake.  Life is no ' brief candle' to me.  It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.

                             George Bernard Shaw

A powerful quote for a Sunday morning!

George Bernard Shaw is reminding me to live every minute of my life... to be fully engaged in all activities in my life rather than be an observer of my life.

Life is special... the activities and functions we carry out build the tapestry of how our life turns out.

We have a choice: we can either engage in activities with joy, enthusiasm and fully live life... or we can put things off or wait for others to do it all for us.

If we continue to put things off, if we continue to have the attitude "one day I will get around to doing something but right now all I want to do is not think about it or not do anything"... life will pass us by!

At times, we can feel very overloaded with all the things we want or need to do... but remember, life is short (relatively speaking)... and it is ours to experience and to create the way we want it to go.

I want to live my life and fully as I can... how about you?

Believe in Yourself

Having a belief in yourself is essential to successfully achieve your goals... to successfully achieve the kind of life you want to create.

It's very easy to doubt ourselves, to lose belief that we can do it, that we are capable of achieving whatever we desire.

Belief tends to dwindle, and doubts and disbelief quickly appear when we face difficulties in our life, come across obstacles in our quest to achieve our goal... when we get rejected, or nothing we do is working out the way we planned.

Many times we need to remind ourselves that we are capable... many times we need to renew our belief in ourselves and in our ability.

I came across this beautiful inspiring video just now... and I'm sharing it with you to stimulate your belief in you!

Take a look...and let me know what you think

Focus and Begin: Take Action Rather Than Debate

Don't waste time calculating your chances of success and failure.  Just fix your aim and begin.

                                                Guan Yin Tzu

This quote is so relevant in all aspects of life.

All too often we set a goal, we have a dream we would like to fulfil... but we get caught up in the dilemma of whether or not we will be successful!

If you have a goal you want to achieve... if you have a dream you want to turn into a reality... go for it!

Now that is not saying for one minute that you shouldn't weigh up the pros and cons of your goal... but what it is saying is make a plan, set your sights on your goal... and take action towards achieving your goal.

All too often we waste so much time talking ourselves out of going for our goal... the thing to remember is, you will never know until you give it a go!

Have an expectation of successfully achieving your goal... rather than have an expectation you will fail.

Spend your time and energy in developing a sound plan and strategies, and taking appropriate action towards achieving your goal... not contemplating its failure!

If you have a goal and could benefit from assistance in developing a workable plan and strategies to achieve your goal ... I invite you to join my 4 Week E-Mail Mentoring Program... find out more and sign up at http://www.aspirationsplus.com/4wkementprom.html

Do you fix your mind on your goal and begin... or do you spend more time wondering whether it will be successful or not?  Click on the comment link below and let me know your thoughts... it's great to hear from you!

Discipline And Achieving Goals

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

                                Jim Rohn

I stumbled across this quote today... and since I'm working on an e-course designed to Get You Going from where you are now in your life to where you want to be... the quote is applicable not only to me creating the course... but to anyone who has a goal they want to successfully achieve.

Accomplishing anything in life requires discipline... not the regimented, abusive kind of discipline... but the discipline that requires you to remain focused, committed, enthusiastic and motivated to do whatever is necessary to achieve your goal.

The discipline to persevere with your goal, to deal with obstacles as you face them, and to continually take action on your goal...

This kind of discipline is the empowering kind of discipline... and allows you to achieve whatever you desire in your life!

I know my self-discipline fluctuates from time to time... most times I remain focused and disciplined to achieve the tasks at hand.  At other times, however, my self-discipline takes a vacation and the tasks at hand take so much longer to accomplish -- if indeed they ever get done!

You can learn techniques to regain your self-discipline... and when you do, you will quickly and easily get your discipline back when it decides to slow down.

How is your self-discipline?  Could it do with a boost?  Could you benefit from learning easy to use techniques to develop and strengthen your self-discipline??

If so, join my 4 Week E-Mail Mentoring Program and develop your self-discipline to achieve your goals in no time!

Let me know about your self-discipline?  Click on the comment link below and share your thoughts... I'd love to hear them!

Defeat: your choice

"No one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality"

                                                       Napoleon Hill

I came across this quote just now... I know the universe made sure I found it!

As you may remember... I'm putting together a 4 week e-mail mentoring program and I'm almost right ready to be able to offer it to you.

The software I am using to get it organised so delivery of the program is easy and simple for both you and me... is actually quite tricky to set up!

Several times this morning, I was beginning to think this was too much... that it was too complicated for me... that it was going to get the better of me!

I've spent many hours trying to sort it out... and a few times almost gave up.  If you know me, you know that I don't give up easily at all.  My persistence and determination to achieve something is strong... but this was testing my limit bigtime!

And then... I had a break for about half an hour, came back and found this quote from Napoleon Hill... and he was speaking directly to me!

You are so right Napoleon Hill... defeat doesn't exist until you see it as a reality.  And right now, I'm not prepared to see defeat as a reality for me.  No!  This is far too important to have defeat as a reality.

Do you ever get to the point where you feel you want to give up, you feel you have no option but to give up... you feel that the obstacles have defeated you?

I know I get to that point at different times... and I know how difficult it can be to push through that point... but remember, if it is something you really truly want to do, achieve, or become... you will find a way to do it, achieve it, or become it.

Defeat never has to be a reality!

Let me know what you think about accepting defeat... click on the comment link below and leave your thoughts and experiences.  I'd love to hear from you...

Benjamin Disraeli: riches

A quote to get you going on Monday!

The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal him his own.

                                                  Benjamin Disraeli

And I don't think Benjamin Disraeli is talking about money riches!!!!

Too often people go through life unaware of the gifts and talents within them... of their own riches.

All too often, we are unaware of what we have in our life, of what we have to offer to others, and of what we can achieve and do for ourselves.  As Benjamin Disraeli says... many don't know about the riches they have within them.

Everyone has enormous potential within them... potential to do or be anything they truly desire.

People lack confidence in different areas of their life... they don't believe they have the skills or the intelligence or the ability... they undervalue themselves enormously!  They often believe all the good stuff happens to everybody else... not them.

For many years, I couldn't see the riches within me... I couldn't see I was very capable of doing all sorts of things... it took others to point out my riches.

Over the last 20 or so years, I've worked on my personal development and as a result have discovered many of the riches within me.  People still point out to me those I don't see for myself... but I can see a lot more than what I used to!

And because of that... my life has become so much richer... I have more control and direction over what I do and become.

My work nowadays involves empowering people... gently guiding them to discover their own abilities, positive qualities, and their own power... there is enormous richness within each person!

Note to self: become more conscious of letting people know the riches within them!

Are you aware of the riches within you?  Click on the comment link below and share your thoughts about this... it's always good to hear from you!

Success quotes: Aristotle and Bernard M. Baruch

All men seek one goal: success or happiness.  The only way to achieve true success is to express yourself completely in service to society.  First, have a defined, clear, practical ideal -- a goal, an objective.  Second, have the necessary means to achieve your ends -- wisdom, money, materials and methods.  Third, adjust all your means to that end.

                                    Aristotle

Recipe for success: be polite, prepare yourself for whatever you are asked to do, keep yourself tidy, be cheerful, don't be envious, be honest, interest yourself in your job, don't pity yourself, be quick to praise, be loyal to your friends, avoid prejudices, be independent, interest yourself in politics, and read the newspapers.

                                     Bernard M. Baruch

Great quotes to contemplate and incorporate into your life, from incredible legends.

Jim Rohn: personal development video

Jim Rohn is one of the top personal development gurus.

Here is a short video of Jim Rohn in action... he talks very briefly of his philosophy, of his beliefs, of what's the essence of personal development.

The gems in this video for me were:

  • when the student is ready the teacher will come
  • college education is not an important factor in personal development (Jim only went to 9th grade in school)
  • success is not something you pursue but is something  you attract by the person you become
  • profits are better than wages -- wages make you a living whereas profits make you a fortune
  • anyone can make both a living and a fortune
  • your income is related directly to your philosophy ... not to the economy
  • if you want to change your income... change your philosophy
  • don't search for the exotic until you have discovered the basic

Jim Rohn is a down to earth Speaker... listen to him and take from him what resonates with you.

You can watch the video (by the way it is about 5 minutes long) at:

How Strong is your Faith?

Hi everyone...

I came across this quote:

Just as a small fire is extinguished by the storm whereas a large fire is enhanced by it -- likewise a weak faith is weakened by predicament and catastrophes where as a strong faith is strengthened by them.

                    Viktor E. Frankl

How true is that?!

It's understandable how people lose their faith, their belief, their confidence in themselves and in their God, universe, and others when faced with hardship, disappointment and crises.

Some people's faith, belief and confidence, however, never waivers... no matter how difficult and challenging the experience... their faith, belief and confidence remains absolute and in tact!

No matter what hurdles and obstacles they come across in their life... whether it be a personal crisis (for example a death of a loved one), business difficulties (bankruptcy), disappointments and failures... they tend to experience it, deal with it, persevere and move on.

A person for example, may have a huge belief in a goal... perhaps a business he or she wants to start up.  They are faced with obstacle after obstacle... they are given many opportunities and reasons to give up... pressure from family and friends to give up, rejection from banks, financial pressures... but they remain focused and steadfast in their faith that this is what they are meant to be doing.

Many people faced with an obstacle... sees that as a sign to give in... sees it as a reason not to keep that effort and belief going.

Others see every obstacle as opportunities to grow... to learn... to sharpen their focus.  They persevere... they remain true to themselves.

And what about the person who has experienced the death of a loved one... perhaps a child.  Losing faith in their religion or in the universe is understandable.  And many people do.  But even in such traumatic crises and circumstances... some people's faith pulls them through... and even amongst the emotional pain and distress of the circumstance... they find strength in their faith.

How strong is your faith?  Faith in yourself... in your God... in the universe?

Great words to start the year!

Hi everyone...

This arrived in my inbox about 10 minutes ago... and I thought what a great motivational quote to live by!  So... I'm sharing it with you...

Don't let life discourage you;
everyone who got where he is had to begin where he was.

                                  Richard Evans

It's easy to become discouraged when things don't turn out the way tyou planned... when your hopes and dreams and goals just haven't happened.  But as the quote says... everybody, no matter who, has to start somewhere.  And the only place they can start is where they are right now.

So use this quote to look at where you are now... and see it as a gift to begin to create the life that you are wanting.

Do you feel stuck?  Are you feeling discouraged?  Let me know your thoughts... you can do this by clicking on the comment link below... I'd love to hear from you.
Also let me know by leaving a comment or e-mailing me if you would like to know more... or if you would like some assistance or guidance.
