When Everything Seems to Be Going Wrong -- 5 tips to break the cycle!

Have you ever had one of those days where everything seems to be going wrong.  From the moment you wake it seems to be an uphill battle until the moment you fall exhausted into bed... and then you can't sleep!

I'm not talking huge major disasters... I'm talking about every day niggles which prevent the day from progressing smoothly and harmoniously... getting through the day seems to be hard work!  e.g. the alarm doesn't go off and you sleep in, there's no milk left for coffee, traffic lights are against you on your way somewhere, it's raining and you forgot to take your umbrella, you've spent a couple of hours working on the computer and suddenly have a power failure (you haven't saved your work), you seem to be clumsy and dropping everthing, and so on and so on!

Yeah... we all have those days I know... so here are 5 tips to help break the cycle and start moving your energy in the right direction:

1) stop what you're doing and take breath -- by stopping what we're doing and becoming conscious of our breathing shifts our focus.  Often when we are stressed we don't breathe deeply enough.  For a couple of minutes concentrate on your breathing -- breathe in and out deeply.

2) become aware of what you are thinking -- our thoughts create our experience.  Most times we are thinking about what is going wrong, what is so difficult, what needs to be done... spend a little while becoming aware of your thoughts and replace negative thoughts with more positive ones.  Think back to a time when everything was running smoothly, you were happy, feeling positive and strong.

3) positive self talk -- say over and over "this will pass", " I'm experiencing a happy, abundant and fulfilled day", "my energy is flowing freely".  Positive self talk shifts your focus, increases your vibration, and aligns your energy with what you desire in your life. 

4) express gratitude -- even on bad days, when everything is an uphill battle, there are numerous things happening to or around us which are good, make us smile, feel comfortable e.g. you got to work on time, coffee was just how you like it, you are warm and dry, someone smiled at you, the flowers look lovely, someone gives you a complement.  Become aware of what is going right around you and express gratitude for it.   

5) sing or hum a song -- sing something upbeat and happy, something you enjoy and makes you feel positive.  This helps create a more positive energy within you.

If you follow these 5 easy-to-use tips you will get through the day more easily and positively.  Each of these tips shifts your focus from what isn't working in your day and allows your energy to focus on what is working.
